I've been doing the big delete. So far over 100 posts I've deleted, with another 300 or so to go. Why? Because its time to start afresh. Let go of the old, and embrace the new. Instead of this blog just being for cutter files, I wanted it to be for layouts, templates, sketches and photography. I hope you enjoy this new journey with me. If you're here for cutter files, there will be some new ones of those this year as well.

I have so much scrapping to catch up on I've set myself a goal of 1000 pages for this year. Oh hope you were sitting down for that! So here's proof that I've started. Its from the sketch I offered the other day. The font is ratinfested mailbox. Love it. And there's a mask, torn paper and the background. Very simple, but I like it.

Its time for another sketch. There can be 7 pics, or 1 big one and 6 embellishments. Whatever grabs your fancy. Just get scrapping. Feel free to comment with a link to your page so I can drool over your handiwork.

I'm starting this year off with something a little different. I've had some good time off, my scraproom has become an absolute disaster area, and trying to access let alone sort through supplies just makes me cringe. So I thought I'd start off quietly and easily with a digi page.

Now I know most people that stop by here are looking for GSD or SVG or KNK files. But I'm fairly certain that most of you scrapbook as well. So if you don't need the digi file (its PSD format), that is fine, just be inspired by the sketch. And yes its really simple to start with. Because we all need baby steps now and then.

Fall in Austin

I had a lovely time staying in Austin. I took this photo when we went for a hike down the local canyon. It was really nice and relaxing listening to the water running. At the bottom there was this original settlers house. Unfortunately it was all boarded up, but it was nice sitting there and taking in the scenery.

Today I've had the pleasure of touring San Fransisco with Cathy and her lovely hubby. Its been great and I've seen so many things that I wouldn't have without them. Here's me and the Golden Gate bridge in the background. I'm off to Texas tomorrow.

Its Friday already! We are definately in need of a new file, and I have one for you :D This would work well with Vegas pics, or any casino pics, or just playing at home with the kids.

I proudly won my first ever game of monopoly yesterday. OK I was versing my 3 kids, but considering my brother always cheated it was great to finally win. It took us 2 days to finish, in the end it was either my youngest or me. Luckily he landed on my hotel with cost him 13M, instead of me landing on 1 of his 3 hotels. I ended up with over $30M and every property on the board!

The kids worked out last night that since the game is in pounds, in Aussie dollars thats about $90M. I think they were wishing it was real money, lol.

Western Plains Zoo

So this is what I've been up to *grin* I took my kids to Western Plains Zoo at Dubbo. Its 6hrs west of where we live, a very long drive! But so worth it.

This is me feeding the giraffes carrots. Apparently carrots are like chocolates for giraffes. Who would've thought it!

Tomorrow I'll finish up the baby files and get everything bundled together, and uploaded to the store shortly thereafter, for those that are waiting on them.

Its been 1 busy week this week. I did get a couple of titles made at the start of the week, and completed a few pages, but haven't had time yet to journal or add the finishing touches so you're just going to have to wait before I share them.

Last night the kids had their twilight swimming carnival. All 3 of them did brilliantly. Its so nice to see them improve. DS1 even broke 2 records and all his swims were PB's. You can't ask for more than that! Actually all 3 of them did PB's for every race. Their coach is going to be pleased, and their mummy is so proud :D

Tomorrow we're off to the State Titles for Surf Life Saving. I'm going to let them set their own goal to see what they want to achieve and I'll be cheering all the way for them.

I'm still working on my holiday pics :-) I made this cute elephant to join my diving elephant from the Look Out Below page. He's having a little dig in the sand, but you could also add him to gardening pics or shovelling/building pics. Swimsuit is optional.

In the side view you can see I've also used some dimensionals/pop dots to give his face an added lift. There's another elephant who's going to join the fun soon and then I'll bundle them up and add them to the store.

As I mentioned previously I've been working on some pages. I went to add my pages to an album and found there was a couple I'd missed from the start of last year. It seems like such a long time ago now.

After dropping my DH at the airport, I took the kids into town and we went up Sydney Tower (aka Centrepoint) to watch his plane fly out. It took a fair while of looking and waiting, but finally we saw it. I still have some journalling to do, but here's the pages so far.

Cutter File Update

Hi there peoples. I have some cutter files to cut so I can post my new designs for you, but I'm just not up for it today. I've started a 12 week Biggest Loser Challenge, so lots of my metal energy is going into eating right and exercise. This is week 3. Talking of exercise I was challenged again this morning by my personal trainer. I'm sure he enjoys watching me get red faced and sweaty. And I'm sad as well. The events in Victoria over the last couple of days have just been horrific. I can't imagine what these people are going through. So check back in a day or so and I'll get something happening.

Pelicans at Play

Today I wanted to share a layout. It uses the Pelicans at Play title which you can find here. My family and I were sitting on the sea wall having fish n chips at The Entrance when these inquisitive pelicans came to see if they should be having some too. The kids get a little scared by them, but they really are magnificent birds.

Happy Australia Day! We're having a nice relaxed day here. Bacon and eggs for breaky on the barbie. Catch up with Grandma a little later and collect our dog who's been visiting her while we were camping, and maybe head out tonight and see some fireworks.

While I was away camping I designed the cutest Valentines file! There will be a freebie component to it and a little bundle of love. You'll have to watch this space to see it first :)

Camping was lovely. The place we stayed at was very quiet, and natural. The beach was freezing! And the river had fish to catch, although the boys never caught anything legal size, but they really enjoyed reeling in little fish after little fish.

Its back to school this week, Wednesday the kids return. The end of the 6 week Christmas holiday. I know they are more than ready to see their friends, and I'm more than ready for a little normality and some breathing space. Whilst I won't be cheering 'cause the house will be deathly quiet, it will be nice to have some personal space. You know, 5 minutes to sit down without someone wanting something, toilet time without someone banging on the door asking you a question. All the good things :D

12" Borders

I've been working on my pages a lot over the last couple of weeks. I'm trying to do 31 pages in January, that's a page a day. So far I'm 20 for 20. I'm hoping to be able to do the next 11 in time, I've got the photos printed and the stash ready to go, but we are heading out camping for a few days so that will take a few days out, and then its Australia Day, and then the kids are back to school! I can't believe its the end of the holidays already.

I had a request for some 12x12 borders that can be cut with the bigger KNK's. I've designed a butterfly border and a swirly border which I think would look great with an elegant photo in the middle. I have a plan to make the butterfly one available to cut and piece on a 8" cutter, but you will need to wait a week or 2 for that one. Both borders are currently available in KNK format only. I hope you like them.

TSI Forum

Have you seen the page challenge over at the TSI Forum? There's a prize up for grabs for participating in the challenge. The first part of the challenge is 10 pages in the first 10 days of January. I haven't done any pages in months so when I read it I really wanted to get into it.

I did 1 page on Friday and 9 pages yesterday, making a total of 10! I'll be uploading my layouts later this morning after breakfast, so make sure you go to my gallery and have a look. If you do you'll also get a sneak peak at some new designs I made for my pages.

2009 word book

I wanted to make a little word book for my daughter. Its her last year of primary and I thought it would be nice to add pics to during the year of her and her friends. If you have a machine that can cut chipboard it would be great to cut larger and add pics to during the year and then give as a gift at Christmas. Otherwise bazill in the smaller machines cuts just as well with a couple of passes and the word book size in the file stands perfectly without bending.

This year I'm planning on making some projects in the earlier stages of the year that can be added to as we progress during the year so its not all a rush at the end. Otherwise life gets too busy and things just don't get done.

Here is another version of the munch title. There is also another matted Munch in the file that could be added which is sized inbetween these two. If you don't mind a little height in your layouts it would look great with some dimensionals and the munch popped out in the centre.

I'm back! We had a lovely time camping. The place we stayed at was very quiet and clean, and we camped right opposite a playground which was perfect for our kids to amuse themselves in.

The beach was really lovely and protected, even with its own lifeguard. We took the surfboards and the kids had fun trying to surf.

We went to Kiama and saw the blowhole. I haven't been there for many many many years, and I've seen it blowing a whole lot higher, but the kids were really taken with it.

I've been trying to finish up my Christmas shopping, organising all the food and the rellies, since they are all coming here. Lets hope its a nice and fun day. I'm not sure if I'll get anymore files cut before Christmas as I have to tidy my scrapping space because its right next to the front door, and there is no door so I can't shut it off from all the visitors. BUT...make sure you check back on Christms Day and there will a pressie waiting. ::smiles::

Christmas Sliders

I made this Christmas sliders with the intention of putting them on my pages this year. I love how they turned out.

They are really simple to make and cut, and then I embossed them with some clear blinged powder that I had been RAK'd. They turned out sensational!

So nice that I put them into my secret santa gift. Guess I'll be making more now for me lol.

Paper Tree

Last year I made a wall hanging which is hanging again inside my front door. To match it this year I made a paper tree. If you want to make one it uses a foam cone, 3"x1" paper strips. I punched 6 stars from cardstock which I stuck together and put a toothpick in the middle to stick it into the foam. Oh and lots and lots of pins to stick the paper strips to the cone with. I blinged it up with some Kindy Glitz (aka stickles).

Chimney Santa

I love it when you drive around and look at Christmas lights with the kids. They get so excited. I remember a few years back the trend was to have a santa hanging out of a chimney on your roof. Now being stinking hot here normally for summer, and where we live even in the winter it doesn't get that cold, so there's not many chimneys around. So, people would make a fake one out of wood, paint it up and hang santa's legs out of it as if he was going on down the chimney or stuck in the top!

This is my version of Santa Claus is coming. Add it to lights photos, Christmas Eve pics or any Christmas'y photos that take your fancy.

I have quite a few unfinished projects, waiting for this or that. I finally got this one finished the other day. It uses Tim Holtz stamps and grungeboard and distress paints. It was fun making it and I want to thank Lita for her inspiration. :)

Its the end of the school year and end of most activities for us this month. The kids finish school on Friday! Wow that has come around fast. So I thought today I'd better get my act together and get some gifts done for the teachers. I've made something really simple. I didn't want to go spending much money, honestly because we don't have a lot to spend, and I always think that something handmade is much more appreciated.

So this is what I came up with. Its a little card holder, with a card inside and a mini size turkish delight. Hopefully the teachers like it.

Wow this week is flying by. I've got to duck out this morning and try and do a wee bit of Christmas shopping, and then go to a Christmas luncheon. But this afternoon I'll try and get a file cut.

How is everyone going with their Christmas shopping? I feel at times I should cross everything off my list and just get my boys coal. lol. We attempted some lights last night on the front of our house. So many of the bulbs were out I think we might have to take them down again and put up a whole new set.

I've made it home :) I had a fabulous time in Texas. Everyone was really lovely, and to have so many nice and sharing ladies all in one spot was just amazing. I did a few drawings while waiting for flights at the airports, so hopefully over the weekend I will get some new files done.

Hi all! I made it safely to Texas. It took a long while, about 30 hours door to door, but I made it. Its really nice here and everyone has been lovely so far.

John Deere Tractor

This was a made on request file for Karen. Its a John Deere Tractor. There is 2 options in the file, 1 with a front mudguard as shown, and 1 without. DH said the front guard wasn't the norm for a tractor so I made a second one. :)

4 days left until I leave for Texas! Its getting so exciting, but I'm also way behind in my preparation. I thought tonight I was finished my goodie bag gift - 50 paper piecings, only to count up and realise I'd made 49 DOH!

So tonight I will clean my mats so I can re sticky them in the morning to cut out my final paper piecing, and a special request file :)

I thought I'd show you as well a sneak peak at an upcoming file :) it just needs a little tweaking and it will be ready. I hope you like it.

When we were away camping, my youngest son, who just turned 7 commented on how it didn't matter what we were camping in, and what happened while we were away, but it was just nice to be all there together. And he was so right. Family means everything.

On Scrapshare, the owners have given us downunder girls our own area to play in, and this is where I like to catch up with my scrapping buddies from Australia and New Zealand. Every now and then someone goes travelling and we have a bit of a competition to guess how many photos they took. Last week we went camping, so I figured I could have some fun with it. I made this little guy as the prize. Its one of the things I designed while I was camping.

He's perfect for a birthday party or celebration page. Kalese was the winner, I hope she likes him.

I thought I'd share some pics from my week camping. I'm not a brilliant photographer by any means. But I like these. The river is all stained at low tide from the water flowing out of the tea trees further upstream. At high tide its full of fresh sparkling clean water. It was cool and fresh, perfect for lazily floating down the river and for trying to catch fish in.

I'm back from camping. I had an interesting time. Wasn't the best time ever, wasn't bad either. Just was. I got a couple of drawings done so I'll make some new files this week.

Do you know what the coolest thing is designing files? Watching something you've drawn come to life. I drew this little guy months ago in my sketch book. Admittedly it took awhile to finish him, but I took my laptop to swimming training this morning and finally finished him off.

This is a layout of our new local skate park. It uses a sketch for the layout - Becky Fleck page map I think. The paper is Kaiser and bazill, the rub ons Kaiser, and the brackets are chipboard that I inked. I also sanded the edge of the photos and added some ink to them.

This is really bad scanning, so I apologise in advance for that, I'm still trying to figure this new scanner out. But this is a dpl I did with a Kaiser kit and rub ons for the LSS.

Going Bananas at the Big Banana

In Australia there is a whole list of big things to go and visit. There's the big pineapple in Queensland, the big avacado in Durandah, the big beer can in Cobar, basically they are giant sculptures or structures. See here for more info.

Well while we were away last we went to the Big Banana in Coffs Harbour. The kids had an absolute ball. Because it was holidays they had inflatable water slides set up, and after a week of camping in the rain, this was a wonderful escape.

I'm heading out to a retreat tonight for the weekend. I'm very excited, I haven't been to a retreat in a few years. What even more special is this is with my friends from Scrapshare. I know a couple of people, but can't wait to meet everyone else!

I made this as the retreat logo and its going in the goody bags for everyone. Its in the Hunter Valley NSW Australia, which is wine country, thus the grapes.

My kids love movie night. We used to have every Friday night as movie night. We'd have an easy dinner, and then settle down for a couple of movies and popcorn. Now we have ballet every Friday night, lol, but when summer comes we'll be back to movie night. Love it!

My kids are already planning for Halloween next month. The costumes are getting designed, the plans with the friends and organising who's Mum will be taking them trick or treating. Its all happening! So here's a file so you can be organised for Halloween as well. I love how this turned out.

My DS took ill, it was quite scary as he was having trouble breathing and we did the middle of the night trip to the emergency room. So all my intentions were to get some files cut, but unfortunately it just wasn't possible.

He's doing a lot better today :)

Today today today and my chipboard word

I've been playing with all sorts of bits lately. I've made 3 chipboard words (Kaiser) for my DD's wall. She loves them. I covered them in Francheville paper, added Kaiser Pearls and glued AED superfine glitter to the sides. Here's one of them.

Today we went to the Sydney Opera House for my daughter to dance in the City of Sydney Eisteddfod. This describes it in her words "Its the most prestigous out of all the competitions and to even get a Highly Commended is really good." Their troupe performed so well and I'm proud to say they won 1st place!

This is my DD after their dance. The background is the tiles of one of the Opera House sails. I really like the effect they give.

And you can't do a trip to Sydney without the pic of the bridge.

So thats it for tonight. I must get my tired body to bed.

I gotta come clean. I feel so bad. I haven't let my blog be this neglected ever! But my peeps I blame the olympics. Instead of sitting in front of the heater every night and designing and cutting, I've been curled up in bed watching the olympics. I've seen just about every sport. I don't often watch sport, its normally the football or motor racing on while DH is ironing - he gets control of the remote if he irons :) So this influx will probably do me for another 4 years, lol. Well at least 2 until the Commonwealth Games.

So there is 2 more days of the games left. And then I promise to return you to normal programming! I will have more original designs coming your way.
